Forest Dunes Golf Club is proud to announce our partnership with The Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) on bringing quality Handicap Service for the Members of Forest Dunes Golf Club. This year, Members of Forest Dunes will be able to manually Log-on to GAM's website to post scores, print an offical GAM/USGA scoring record, and sign-up for upcoming GAM tournaments. About the GAM
The Golf Association of Michigan, founded in 1919, is the governing body for amateur golf in the state. As a not-for-profit organization, our purpose is to represent, promote, and serve the best interests of the game. The GAM provides membership to more than 70,000 golfers and more than 400 golf courses; conducts 13 amateur championships; and oversees 14 USGA qualifying events.

USGA Course & Slope Ratings
The GAM is licensed by the United States Golf Association to measure and rate golf courses in the state of Michigan in accordance with the USGA Course Rating System. Golf courses are measured using laser technology to ensure accuracy. Course obstacles are assessed relative to USGA standards to produce the official USGA Course & Slope Ratings.

GAM Championships
The GAM conducts more than 70 days of qualifying and championship events each season. Events are held for golfers of all abilities.
  • For men: Michigan Amateur, Mid-Amateur, Senior Amateur, and the GAM Championship
  • For women: GAM Stroke Play, Mid-Amateur, and Senior Amateur
  • GAM Boys Junior and Girls Junior
  • Father & Son Championship
  • Two Person Net Team Championship
  • Tournament of Club Champions
  • Local/Sectional Qualifying events in Michigan for all USGA National Championship Events
  • Michigan Net Amateur Championship - for golfers of all skill levels. Two qualifying events will be held, with the top finishers invited to a two-day championship.

All GAM members are eligible to participate in GAM events. Most qualifying and championship events have restrictions based on GAM/USGA Handicap Index.
