In October 2003, Forest Dunes was certified as the first Gold Audubon International Signature Sanctuary in Michigan and one of only twenty-one world wide! Since then, Forest Dunes has continued to meet the strict environmental standards of the Audubon International Certified Gold Signature Development program.
