Forest Dunes was certified on October 9, 2003 as the first Gold Audubon Signature Sanctuary in Michigan. Forest Dunes Golf Club has also been certified in meeting the strict standards of the Audubon International Certified Gold Signature Development program. It was one of the first six developments in the world to earn the distinction.
